A new opponent has been named to face Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe for the world title bought on 2 December, 2016.
The Ghanaian boxer was supposed to battle with Fernando David Saucedo, but the Argentine boxer pulled out.
“We had to get a new opponent for Tagoe following Saucedo‘s unwillingness to travel down for the bout, luckily for us we got the IBO to approve for a replacement after this disappointment from Team Saucedo,” said promoter Samuel Anim.
“This goes down to show what we have always been saying that opponents are afraid of Game Boy.
“We need Ghanaians to rally behind us to make it happen and for Game Boy to win the World title for Ghana“
The bout is set to come off on Friday 2 December, 2016 at the new boxing arena at Bukom.
29 year old Tagoe (26-1, 13 KOs) has won 26 straight fights since losing on debut way back in June 2014 and has racked up an impressive haul of over 8 career titles.
The Ghanaian showman, ranked number seven in the WBA lightweight world ratings hopes to finally lay his hands on a version of the lightweight world title with victory come Friday night.
