Captain of Black Stars has said he is not retiring anytime soon from football because he has passion for football and cannot see himself quitting.
Asamoah Gyan made this disclosure when he was speaking to Delay on the ‘Delay Show’ on GhOne TV.
He said “Sometimes I think of my strength as a player but it’s on and off. For me, the passion I have for the game is so strong that I cannot quit. People out there will say i should quit because i have achieved more in football and i should allow others also achieve same but I have the passion so i am not quitting anytime soon. You see, sometimes you will see people playing football for long but they still play”.
Asked if he is preparing himself mentally for his retirement, the thirty two years old Captain said “no not now. I am not retiring now”.
Gyan said he felt the stress with having to manage his businesses, playing for club side as well as the national team and travelling many of the times without rest was taking a toll on him and making him not to be able to put out his best.
Disagreeing that age was a factor in the many minor injuries he was sustaining in recent times, Gyan said he thought it was tiredness and stress.
Asamoah Gyan indicated that he has a Shark at home and he intends to dump it into the sea after four years when it is matured enough.
He noted that his challenge as a celebrity currently is how to maintain his three million dollars mansion hence the reason why he is currently investing a lot of money into businesses.
