German Confederations Cup winner, Benjamin Henrichs says he was ready to feature for the Black Stars but never was he contacted by the Ghana Football Association at any point of his career.

The 20 year old fullback who can also play as a midfielder was born to German father and Ghanaian mother has been spending time with his maternal family Ghana’s capital Accra following the Confederation’s Cup feat in Russia last month.

Henrichs was called up to the German national side for the first in November 2016 by manager Joachim Löw but the youngster says he had all along been waiting for a call from the Ghana FA.

“I was there, and Germany asked me at the age of 14 to play for the U-15 and as at now I didn’t hear anything from Ghana till now”, Henrich told SportsObama.com
