Ashanti Regional Communication Director of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. Osei Kofi Acquah has counseled parents of the deceased students of Kumasi Academy to sue government and the  school authorities for the deaths of their relations.

“I will counsel every parent who has lost his or her relative to take legal action against the government and the school authorities for negligence”, he advised.

According to the outspoken Regional Communication Director, the school authorities and the government must be held responsible for the deaths of at least seven students in the school.

“I am not politicking with this issue but I see it that the NPP government is being negligent to prevent these unforeseen death”, Mr. Osei Kofi Acquah spoke on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM morning show hosted by Kofi Asante Ennin.

“I will use this opportunity to announce to every Ghanaian when CPP is voted into power, we are going to provide health centres in every school”, the communicator disclosed while sympathizing with the deceased’s’ families.

One more student of the school died on Tuesday, while two others collapsed, heightening fear and causing panic among the staff, the students and their parents.

The death of the female student brings to 11 the number of students who have died under mysterious circumstances since April this year, while the number on admission has increased to 44.

Already, blood samples of some of the students who died in mysterious circumstances have been sent to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research to ascertain the cause of death.

Officials from the World Health Organisation (WHO) visited the school to administer Azithromycin, an antibiotic, to contain the situation.
