Asante Kotoko head coach, Steve Pollack has pleaded to the Management of the team for fielding an unqualified player against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana@60 anniversary return match staged at Baba Yara Stadium.
Kwadwo Addai who is not known by the management of the club was surprisingly fielded by the former Berekum Chelsea gaffer in the match that ended in a stalemate.
Lawyer Yaw Boafo who is the leader of the legal team of the club in an interview with Kumasi based Nhyira said, “The management of Kotoko doesn’t know Kwadwo Addai from anywhere so were surprised to see him wearing our jersey and playing against Hearts.
“His inclusion in the Kotoko team was a solitary decision, taken by Coach Steve Polack,” he added.
However, Pollack speaking on the same network disclosed that there were injuries at the camp of the team and after monitoring him [Kwadwo Addai] he decided to field him against Hearts of Oak.
“I have apologized to management for that mishap and I have promised that such a thing would not be repeated again whilst I coach Kotoko.
“It was just an oversight, I always inform Kotoko management about new players that I want to use in my team but with this one, I erred and I apologize.”
