Government appointees who intend to use their positions to enrich themselves at the expense of party foot soldiers have the Northern Regional of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu to contend.

The outspoken NPP stalwart who recently said it was automatic for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to notify him before awarding contracts, now insists that they cannot continue to live in comfort while foot soldiers bear the brunt.

He accused some appointees of engaging in what he termed Sakawa indicating it will be over his dead body such appointees will keep contracts to themselves while jobless youth who toiled for the party continue to wallow in poverty.

“That kind of Sakawa business must stop. We are not going to sit there and allow some people to use positions to enrich themselves and the party will suffer. Several jobs have come to the region, the youth have no jobs. The people who helped to bring the party to power they have no jobs. Even if there is a job and they cannot do it, won’t you let them know? I am fighting for my party and will continue to fight for my party”, he disclosed on Tamale-based Radio Tamale.

He served notice that he will ensure that this decree is followed to the latter indicating that some of the jobless youth are contractors who are being neglected by some of the appointees in the region.

“Some of the boys are contractors themselves and they must give the jobs to the boys. If you do not give the jobs to them how are they going to support the party again? They must give the jobs to the boys”, he stated unequivocally.

According to him some of the appointees are refusing to part with neither with money nor contracts for the very persons whose contributions saw the victory of the party at the 2016 polls calling on them to turn a new leave or incur his wrath.
