The infamous Judge who since Monday, July 9, 2018 has become a subject of media discussion has incurred the wrath of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Awutu Senya Municipal Assembly in the Central Region, Michael Yaw Mensah.
According to the MCE, the claim by the judge is a populist move aimed at ensuring that the Kasoa District Magistrate Court is closed down for reasons best known to her.
The Municipal Chief Executive debunked claims by the Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Sohpia Akuffo that the environment around the facility is an eyesore underscoring the need for it to be to have it closed down.
Mr. Michael Yaw Mensah insists the court has a toilet facility contrary to what was reported in the media by journalists who followed the Chief Justice during her tour of the Central Region
“I’m surprised the judge said she uses chamber pot as a washroom. I’m really surprised. This judge we are talking about has her own toilet facility which was provided by the assembly” adding that, there are people who even clean the washroom for her on a daily basis.
Explaining further, Mr. Yaw Mensah indicated that, upon a request made by the resident judge, the assembly refurbished the new court complex by providing a washroom for her and staff of the facility.
“So far as I’m concerned, she hasn’t complained about anything like that to me. I don’t know if she uses a chamber pot or not and she hasn’t lodged any complaint about the state of the facility”. He told Angel FM in Kumasi Tuesday in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com’s Syxtus Eshun
The MCE further explained that the judge through the Registrar of the court wrote a letter to thank the assembly after it refurbished the facility for them.
The MCE further indicated the judge may want to give a different complaint to demonstrate a situation and not necessarily the use of “chamber pot”.
He also indicated the judge in question is on transfer and therefore may do that to destroy the image of the municipality.
