Students of Dasein Practical School in Accra on Friday, November 9 toured the offices of Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL).
The tour by members of the writers and readers club of the school, was part of the school’s extra curricula activities. The tour aimed at acquainting them with the news gathering, packaging and distribution processes.

The students visited Graphic Online, Junior Graphic, Daily Graphic, Graphic Showbiz, Graphic Sports and the Graphic Press House.
Mrs Doreen Andoh, a reporter at Daily Graphic briefed the students on the various processes news go through ahead of reaching readers as packaged products.
With a good number of the students opting to be journalists in the near future, she urged them to take their studies seriously for the to live their dreams.
Graphic Online Editor, Isaac Yeboah urged the students to learn the rules governing internet use so they know what to do while on the internet.
He said as students, the internet serves as a great resource for them in their studies, however they should manage their times on the net carefully and refrain from unproductive activities that only waste their time and data at the expense of their studies.

Mr Kofi Mensah, a teacher who accompanied the students in an interview with Graphic Online said the school looks forward to bringing out the best in the students and with many of them desiring to be journalists, there was the need to take the students out to have practical experience of what journalists do.
He said some of the students truly aspire to be journalists in the future, the reason why they have joined the writer’s and reader’s club of the school so the school deemed it necessary to take them on the tour.
The students were excited at the opportunity and expressed the hope that they would one day live their dreams as renowned journalists.
