Some delegates doubling as supporters of Masawudu Mubarick, a disqualified National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate in Asawase have used unprintable adjectives to describe members of party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party.
“Asiedu Nketia, and members of the Doe Adjaho Committee are all liars and unpatriotic”, the aggrieved party members described in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com on Kumasi FM’s morning show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel.
After recommendation by the party’s FEC, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asawase Constituency, Hon Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, was given the green light to represent the party in the 2020 parliamentary election.
Supporters of Mr. Masawudu Mubarick therefore are also kicking against the decision threatening to vote against the party should Hon. Muntaka Mubarak be imposed on them as their parliamentary candidate in the 2020 polls.
“We will vote skirt and blouse. If the national executives wanted the party to win massively, they would have sought our opinion. They would not have imposed anyone on us”, supporters of Masawudu Mubarick vowed.
“As a matter of fact, I think this news for me is an embarrassment to the democracy we are practicing in Ghana. The whole issue is a very simple issue. It is a debate between letting the delegates of Asawase exercise their democratic right and imposing somebody on the people of Asawase. We saw it in the beginning.” They stressed.
