The flagbearer of the leading opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama is pleading to Ghanaians to give him another chance to become the President of the republic.

John Mahama was voted out of Office in the 201 with an unprecedented one million gap, losing the presidential seat to Nana Akufo-Addo who then the flagbearer of the opposition party and currently the ruling party New Patriotic Party (NPP).

But Mr. Mahama is staging a comeback and believes he has gained enough experience to lead the country again.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been there before, I’ve experienced it, I’ve learnt useful lessons, I’ve reviewed issues and events and I’m coming back to you together with my party, the NDC, with what will be a practicable strategy for laying a solid foundation for the transformation of our country,” Mr Mahama said on Wednesday, 23 October 2019 at the inauguration of the NDC’s manifesto committee in Accra.

“We are coming to give you hope and address your concerns and challenges because we feel your suffering and we believe in opportunity for all, not just a few as we are witnessing today,” he added.

Mr. Mahama added that, “the activities of the NDC is aimed at restoring hope and “addressing the increasing hardship inflicted on Ghanaians, unprecedented corruption and the family-and-friends governance we are saddled with today.”

Though the NDC is yet to outdoor their manifesto, Mahama believes his party have lots of goodies for Ghanaians when voted to power again in the December 2020 elections.

He stated that their manifesto will provide a policy guided by research but most importantly by broad consultations to renew hope in the governance of the country “to accelerate what was a successful beginning to the diversification and transformation of our economy and significantly improve the living conditions of our people”.

He recounted how the party’s manifesto have been drawn up by a technical committee largely based in Accra for the past years but believes this time around things will be different.

He said, “It will be a manifesto that will be the conclusion of a long, detailed “consultative process involving broad interactions with our people, incorporating their concerns, their hopes and their aspirations”.

Meanwhile, John Mahama is expected to announce his running mate soon for the elections as well as outdoor the party’s manifesto.
