Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan has said his club is eligible to represent Ghana in the next season’s CAF Champions League if the Ghana Premier League is cancelled.
Currently, the 2019/20 Ghana League season has been suspended and it’s uncertain whether the season will resume or be cancelled.
But Felix Annan believes since Asante Kotoko represented Ghana in last season’s CAF Champions League after winning the NC Special Competition tier I, should the league season in Ghana be cancelled, then Kotoko will have to be given the sole rights to play in the next season’s Champions League.
“Per what I know about CAF rules, we (Asante Kotoko) are still eligible to play in the champions league.
“The CAF rules state that if a season is not completed, or cancelled or suspended, because of a problem, the previous champions are to represent the country.
“So if the league is suspended or cancelled, I think we are still eligible to play in the champions league”, Annan told Takoradi based Skyy Power FM.
