The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to 2022.
The 33rd edition of the prestigious tournament was supposed to have come on in January/February 2021 but has now been postponed to January/February 2022.
This was decided in a crunch meeting by CAF held on Tuesday on the future of football in the Continent.
The decision to postpone the AFCON 2021 has been made possible due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus which has killed a million across the globe since it outbreak in Chinese city of Wuhan.
Cameroon have been maintained as the host country for the AFCON next year.
