AshantiGold Sporting Club have parted ways with striker Shafiu Mumuni according to the club’s CEO Emmanuel Frimpong.
According to Emmanuel Frimpong, Shafiu Mumuni has had his contract expired and has been given the greenlight to leave the team despite contract renewal talks earlier on.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Fox FM, Emmanuel Frimpong disclosed that Shafiu Mumuni is leaving AshantiGold because he is no longer in the plans of their head coach Roberto Landi.
“Shafiu [Mumuni] is not in our plans. The head coach claimed Shafiu is not needed in the team [AshantiGold] because we have signed his replacement. His contract has ended”, Frimpong told Fox FM.
Shafiu Mumuni has been heavily linked to regional rivals Asante Kotoko with talks reportedly in the advanced stage.
