Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has splashed out to buy his own golf course, according to reports.

The 22-year-old United and England striker currently lives in a £1.85million six-bed home in Cheshire.

But The Sun report that he has spent big money on the greenfield site as he plans to design and build a new home in the grounds.

The report claims he invested in the new site after deciding he needed somewhere more secluded to guarantee and protect his privacy.

The latest news demonstrates once again that he has come a long way from his humble beginnings growing up on a council estate in Wythenshawe in Greater Manchester.

The report comes after Rashford revealed that he will also grace the cover of fashion magazine Vogue.

The clearly-humbled 22-year-old shared the ‘surreal’ photo with his social media followers – but has rightly earned plaudits after leveraging the government to perform a sensational U-turn on their free school meals policy.

Rashford partnered with FareShare, a poverty and food waste charity, in March and has since raised more than £20million to ensure children are provided with school meals during lockdown.

It is for that reason that he was chosen by editor Edward Enninful, with the September issue likely to include a number of high-profile activists.

The United forward will also receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester for his campaign against child poverty, the youngest recipient in the award’s history.
